# Badges

The badges LangX gives for what you have done — streaks, corrections, messages, tokens earned and time as a member — and what they do and do not change.

A badge marks something you have already done. It is worked out from numbers the app keeps anyway — your longest streak, how many corrections you have written, how many tokens you have earned — so a badge can never disagree with your profile, and it can never be taken away: every one of them counts something that only goes up.

Badges **do not pay tokens and do not multiply them.** An earlier version of LangX described badges with token multipliers; none of that carried over. How tokens are earned is in [How Tokens Are Earned](/docs/token/distibution.md).

## The ladders

| Badge         | Earned at                                                    |
| ------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Streak        | A longest streak of 7, 30, 100, 180, 365, 730 and 1,095 days |
| Corrections   | 1, 10, 100, 1,000, 5,000, 10,000 and 25,000 corrections      |
| Messages      | 100, 1,000, 10,000 and 50,000 messages sent                  |
| Tokens earned | 10,000, 50,000 and 250,000 tokens earned                     |
| Member        | One, two and three years as a member                         |

* **Streak** badges read your **longest** streak, not your current one, so a broken streak does not cost you a badge you already had. The days are the same ones that pay a [streak bonus](/docs/library/day-streaks.md#milestones), so the badge screen and the token ledger always tell the same story.
* **Corrections** count every correction you have written, in a chat or on a post, and every recording you have left on a pronunciation request — the same act in a different medium. 5,000 of them, with a 365-day streak, is also what the Aurora frame asks for (see [Spending Tokens](/docs/token/utility.md)).
* **Tokens earned** counts what you have earned over all time, never your balance. Spending tokens on a frame cannot cost you a badge.
* **Member** badges are for staying rather than for effort — three years of turning up is reachable where three years without missing a day is not.

## Early Adopter

One badge nobody new can earn: **Early Adopter** is on every account that was on LangX before the current app. It has no ladder and no progress bar — you were there or you were not. If you had an account in the old app, see [Coming Back From the Old App](/docs/library/coming-back.md).

## Where they show

Your badges are on your profile, with the next one on each ladder and how far you are from it. You can share any badge you have earned as a card.
