# Daily Tokens

When the daily pool is worked out, how it reaches your balance, and where to see it.

Most tokens land the moment you earn them: send a message, write a correction, answer a pronunciation request, get a conversation going, and the tokens are yours immediately. The **daily pool** is the exception — it can only be worked out once the day is over and everyone's activity is known.

## When it lands

The pool closes at the end of the **UTC day** and is shared out among everyone who was active during it. A standard clock for everyone, wherever you are, means the same day cannot be counted twice by moving between time zones.

The share itself is paid at **04:00 UTC** the following morning. The few hours after the day closes are deliberate: your share depends on everyone else's day, so it cannot be worked out until the day is genuinely finished for all of us.

So the pool share for today reaches your balance tomorrow morning. Direct awards do not wait.

Your **streak** is the one thing that runs on your own local day, not UTC — a streak should follow the day you actually lived.

## How much

Your share depends on how active you were relative to everyone else that day. The weights, the caps and a worked example are in [How Tokens Are Earned](/litepaper/token/distibution.md).

## Where to see it

Open your profile. It shows your balance, your all-time earned total, your current streak, and today's counters as they build up — messages sent, corrections written, new conversations, and how many different people you have talked to.

Today's counters are live. Your **pool share is not shown before it is paid**, and that is on purpose: any figure we could put there during the day would move every time somebody else sent a message, and it could not account for the rules applied at day close — a brand-new account, for instance, earns no share for its first day. We would rather show you nothing than a number that changes into a different one overnight.

The token screen shows what the pool **actually paid** you last time, alongside how many people are sharing today's pool. The full day-by-day history is there too: open a day to see where its tokens came from, pool share included.

## Where you stand

The token leaderboard lives in your wallet, directly under your balance. It comes in four tabs — **weekly, monthly, yearly and all-time** — and ranks tokens **earned**, so spending never costs you your place. If you are outside the top of the table, your own rank is still shown.
